Overview
Zymoto is a traditional Greek bakery in Paralia. They had recipes, a following, and a reputation for bread that sells out by noon, but no website that reflected any of it.
The problem
Everything customers knew about Zymoto came from walking past the window. There was no way to see the range, find opening hours, or understand what made the bakery different before arriving. For a business that depends on being the obvious choice for a daily habit, that is a real cost.
Design direction
Food photography does the persuading, so the interface gets out of its way. Warm cream surfaces, generous space around each product, and type that stays quiet while the images carry the appetite. The palette was pulled from the crust and crumb of their own bread rather than imposed on it.
Development
Built as a fast static site. No CMS weight for a page that changes seasonally rather than daily. Images are served as WebP at multiple sizes so the gallery stays sharp on a laptop and light on a phone in the shop queue.
Key features
- Product gallery organised by category, not by page
- Opening hours and location above the fold on mobile
- Image pipeline tuned for slow mobile connections
- Greek and English content structure
A storefront that does the job the window used to do, before the customer is anywhere near the street.
